Learning Leaps Behavioral Services. Inc
Learning Leaps offers various ABA-based therapy program models designed to be individualized in order to meet the needs of each child.
The Early Intervention Program is an intensive clinic based program designed for children ages 18 months to 5 years old who qualify based on medical necessity. A 1:1 ratio is kept for all clients in this program. The Early Intervention Program focuses on verbal and communication skills, daily living and feeding skills, social skills, play skills, toilet training, reduction of maladaptive behaviors, and school readiness skills. This is a comprehensive therapy model that covers many developmental domains. Children typically spend 25-35 hours a week in therapy, learning the required prerequisite skills they will need to meet their developmental milestones and to prepare to enter school. The Early Intervention Program is housed on The Key To Learning campus in Clermont. Enrollment is limited to a maximum of eight children per year.
The Key to Success Program is for school age children that benefit from a lower student to teacher ratio and individualized behavior support before entering a traditional classroom setting. The children in The Key to Success program are enrolled as students in The Key to Learning, an accredited private school. While there, they receive academic instruction from one of The Key to Learning’s teachers, while simultaneously receiving behavioral support and intervention from a Learning Leaps team comprised of a supervising BCBA and an RBT. Student ratios are kept around 1:5. The focus of The Key To Success program is to develop behavior change that will encourage independence and assimilation into a classroom environment, without the need for one-on-one assistance. Children in this program usually qualify for less than 25 hours of ABA per week, with the goal being to fade services out as the child meets the goals outlined in his or her behavior intervention plan. This program’s treatment model is usually a combination of 1:1 therapy sessions between the BCBA/RBT and the child and training school staff to work with the child.
School Consultation services are offered for children in private and public schools throughout Lake County. ABA services in a school consultation model focus on teacher and parent training and typically fall under 20 hours per week. Learning Leaps can help guide you through the Private Provider Packet required by Lake County Schools in order for your therapist to work with your child’s teacher in their classroom. School Consultation services are usually very focused in their scope and are usually comprised of behavior intervention strategies that increase schoolwork completion, compliance with instructional demands, and decreasing maladaptive behaviors to ensure success in a traditional classroom environment.
In-Home and Community Based Services are designed for children of any age, who need assistance with a specific skill or behavior, or who wish to stay in their current educational setting without assistance from Learning Leaps staff. This program is offered throughout the day and in various locations. Therapy sessions are conducted in a 1:1 ratio with the therapist and parent/caregiver working together with the child throughout each session. Parent training is highly emphasized in this program model so that parents/caregivers can implement behavior interventions as needed, even when the therapist is not present. These services are designed to be short-term and focus on training the parent/caregiver to serve as the therapist and collect data on the child’s progress.
