Breakaway Family Retreat

Breakaway Summer Camp is a five-day family retreat designed to provide relaxation, recreation and spiritual renewal for the disability family. Families impacted by disabilities enjoy a week filled with pampering, water activities, arts & crafts and many recreational options. Every day is capped with a family event such as a barn dance, luau or talent show.

Each child, teen or adult camper with a disability is matched to a crew member we call their buddy for the week. Our buddies and programming staff serve each family with individualized attention and lots of love. At Breakaway Camp, we say “yes” to our campers! We work hard to help our campers discover they don’t need to be held back by limits. “Yes” they can achieve.

The strength of Breakaway Camp really takes place when families connect. Therefore, there are moments for peer-to-peer exchanges and disability life education that focus on renewing and creating a strong family bond.

At its core, Breakaway Camp serves as a chance for families affected by disabilities to connect with a loving God. Through the relationships forged during camp, participants can witness and experience Jesus’ model of love and acceptance firsthand.
