Palm Beach State College Academy for Community Inclusion is a one-week program for individuals with intellectual and developmental differences. Students must be between 18 - 22 years with a personal desire and support to gain knowledge and skills related to academics/workforce, campus and community engagement, and personal development.

THE APPLICATION DEADLINE IS MAY 20, 2023. The program cost for final students who are selected is $300.00 - enrollment is limited to 10 students
This is the first step of the application process.
An interview will be scheduled for the students and support systems selected to participate in this program.
The final decision of selected participants will be announced on June 29, 2023
Who should apply?

People with intellectual and developmental differences (between the ages of 18-22 years) with a personal desire and support to gain knowledge and skills related to academics, campus and community engagement, career development, and employment.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

Have a documented significant intellectual and developmental disability.
Resides within Palm Beach County
Provide a copy of your High school/GED transcript showing proof of graduation.
Be capable of meeting personal needs without assistance, including but not limited to -

Therapeutic and/or mental health services during program hours
Be able to self-administer any necessary medication
Feed oneself independently
Be independent in the areas of personal hygiene, i.e., toileting. and grooming
Display appropriate behaviors and attire
Demonstrate consistent school attendance and punctuality.
Have the capability to attend and participate in multiple 1 1/2-hour classes.
Ability to move physically or with adaptive equipment from one location to another without staff assistance or supervision.
Communicate personal information with others, including but not limited to Name, Address, and emergency contact information.
Process and Checklist:

Apply to the program and submit the following forms to Palm Beach State College.

Copy of most recent Individual Education Plan (IEP)
Copy of most recent academic evaluation, if available
Send forms by either:
