Please note that the SCFOD is still closed due to the pandemic. However, the skate park next to it is open.
The Space Coast Field of Dreams is an all-access, multi-sport park in West Melbourne, Florida built for children and adults of all abilities to have a ball. The only sports park of its kind in Florida, this park was the brainchild of Jim Tapp, a retired New Jersey firefighter who realized that Brevard County had no place for kids and adults with disabilities to play sports with their able-bodied peers. After many years of passionate persistence, Tapp’s dream became a reality when then Brevard County Commissioner Robin Fisher decided it was time to make his dream become a reality. Today, this over $5 million, 5.5 acre park is open to children and adults of all abilities to have meaningful recreational experiences.
A state-of-the-art soft surface playground, all-accessible soccer and baseball fields, a basketball court and playground are what you’ll find at the Space Coast Field of Dreams. Leagues, programs and community events also are offered throughout the year. In addition, on-site staff and a concession stand for drinks and snacks are available daily. As a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, the Space Coast Field of Dreams depends on the generous support of community members like you. Whether through an online gift, program sponsorship, pavilion or park rental, your support funds our efforts.
