Amber Grace Community, Inc.
Amber Grace is a residential Community for adults with mild (MID) intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our mission is to cultivate a Christ-led Abundant Life for every Neighbor, their Families, and the Communities we serve.
One distinguishing feature of our Community is the loving, family-style nature of Amber Grace Houses, meals, and support systems. Each of the eight Houses are a Family, consisting of six Neighbors and one Support Family. We have four Houses for men and four Houses for women each consisting of a single family home for the Support Family connected to a shared kitchen and living room area connected to six individual apartments for Neighbors. These six Neighbors and their Support Family do life together, sharing evening meals, neighborhood outings, and worship services as a family.
A second distinguishing feature is our commitment to discovering each individual’s strengths and pairing them with an opportunity for service and/or employment. Everyone has a role to play in our Community! ""I need you, and you need me"" is the key to our core belief in interdependence along with supported independent living. Discovering our Neighbors’ strengths enables them to enjoy a world of post secondary opportunities centered around their individual likes and gifts. Our community engagement programs are designed to discover and grow the God-given potential of each Neighbor enabling them the opportunity to experience the Abundant Life Jesus offered in John 10:10 of the Bible.
Our vision and intent is for Amber Grace to be Home to our Neighbors for as long as it is in the best interest of each Neighbor to remain at Amber Grace. We will continue to develop and add to our offerings enabling our Neighbors to age in place within our Community.
