This Is Not Day Care – It’s Care For The Day

Families with medically fragile children have so many choices to make. The BrightStart Pediatrics PPEC program can help.

So, what is this, exactly? BrightStart Pediatrics is a nursing and therapy center for medically fragile infants and children. The most common remark from people when hearing about the service is: “Oh, so it’s a day care.” Well, no. BrightStart Pediatrics is a PPEC.

What is PPEC? PPEC is Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care – a nursing and therapy center for medically fragile infants and children. BrightStart PPEC centers serve the Central Florida area from three locations: Winter Garden, Sanford and Orlando. BrightStart’s PPEC program is the most reliable skilled pediatric nursing and therapy option for families of medically fragile children. BrightStart Pediatrics PPEC centers are designed to deliver the most effective, consistent care in the best facilities.

That’s a lot of information to explain what we do at BrightStart!
It’s really very simple: Nursing, Therapy and Love.

The need for skilled pediatric nursing qualifies a patient for the BrightStart PPEC program. Typical skilled nursing care provided includes: oxygen administration, apnea monitoring, G-tube feeds, tracheostomy care, and ventilator management. Care is provided by experienced pediatric nurses, therapists and aides.

Physical, Speech and Occupational Therapists treat patients on site. This enables better communication with nursing staff for improved outcomes. Therapy at the center eliminates the need for families to coordinate out-patient services.

Love – this is our key ingredient. It’s no secret that this kid-friendly approach is unique to BrightStart.
We put love into everything we do at BrightStart. From skilled, dedicated and caring staff, centers with developmentally targeted rooms, interaction with similarly developing children to a website featuring updated photos and video of our patients, families and staff – never stock images, activities and field trips to enrich our little patients and give them … yes, a bright start.

This is only a snapshot of the BrightStart Pediatrics program – detailed information is available anytime online. We encourage you to visit one of our centers to see the difference in what we do.
